Year 10 Parents’ Evening on Thursday 21st May 2026 from 4:00pm to 6:30pm

Dear Parents,

We would like to invite you to attend our Year 10 Parents’ Evening on Thursday 21st May 2026 from 4:00pm to 6:30pm.
This is a particularly important point in the academic year for Year 10 students. As they approach their
upcoming mock examinations, this evening provides a valuable opportunity to reflect on their progress and
discuss the next steps in their GCSE journey.

Meeting with your child’s teachers will allow you to:
• Gain a clear understanding of your child’s current progress across subjects
• Identify areas of strength and areas for improvement
• Receive guidance on how best to support your child at home
• Work together with staff to ensure your child is fully prepared for their mock exams and beyond

The GCSE years are a pivotal stage in your child’s education, and strong communication between school and
home is key to ensuring success. By attending, you will help us to work in partnership with you to provide the
most effective support possible for your child during this crucial period.

We strongly encourage all parents and carers to attend, as your involvement plays a vital role in shaping your
child’s confidence, motivation, and outcomes.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Yours sincerely

Mr Hussain
Head Of Year 10

Culture Day on Monday 1st June

Dear Parents/carers,

Following a sustained and thoughtful campaign by our Year 11 leadership team, I am pleased to inform you that the
school will be holding a Culture Day on Monday 1st June. This is the first day back after the half term break.

For those unfamiliar with the concept, Culture Day will provide a valuable opportunity to celebrate the rich cultural
diversity of our school community, which is something we believe is both important and meaningful for our pupils. I
am writing this letter to ensure that no students miss out on this wonderful opportunity.

Secondly, the day falls on the first day back after half-term and immediately after Eid, which will allow students to
wear cultural clothing to mark the occasion. This is a non-uniform day, with students encouraged to wear clothing
that celebrates their culture.

It is important to emphasise that Culture Day is a normal school day. All students are expected to attend,
participate fully in lessons, and follow their usual timetable. Students must wear a school lanyard, and I would
appreciate full parental support on this matter.

For Year 11 students, it is also a particularly important day to attend school for focused science revision “Master
Classes” in preparation for the upcoming GCSE examinations. Please also note that Year 11 students have an
examination on the Tuesday following Culture Day, so attendance and engagement in normal lessons on the
Monday are especially important.

It is really important to stress that Culture Day is a normal school day that involves non-uniform. In addition, there
will be bake sales and other small activities taking place during social times. Finally, this event allows us to model a
key principle of pupil leadership that we are keen to develop across the school: “you said, we did.” Listening to pupils
and responding positively to their ideas is central to the culture we are working hard to foster.

I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate Hasher Rafiq (Head Boy) and Imaan Babar (Head Girl), who
have put a significant amount of work into this initiative alongside other members of the Year 11 leadership team.
There has been a noticeably positive atmosphere around the school in recent weeks, and I hope we can continue to
build upon this momentum.

In order to embrace the day, parents are required to log into ParentPay and allocate funds regarding the event:
• £1 charge for anyone wishing to wear their chosen cultural clothes (closes on 1st June at 9.00am)
• £1, £2, £5 vouchers for a bake sale (closes on 21st May 2026).
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Yours sincerely

Richard Reeve
