The Rockwood Way: Rewards and Recognition
At Rockwood Academy we believe in celebrating success and recognising the effort, commitment and character our students show every day.
As we part of CORE education trust, our rewards system is designed to promote a culture of collaboration, opportunity, respect and excellence across the Academy. We are proud to recognise not only academic achievement and progress, but also positive behaviour, attendance and contributions to our community.
Celebrating Positive Behaviour
A culture of respect and excellence is central to life at Rockwood Academy. Students are rewarded CORE points via class charts, which recognise:
- Excellent effort and progress in lessons
- Consistent positive behaviour
- Demonstration of our CORE values
- Contributions to the wider academy community
- Attendance and punctuality
These achievements are celebrated regularly at both individual and faculty level, reinforcing high expectations and positive habits. Once students have enough CORE points these points can be swapped for prizes in our class charts rewards store!
Extra Curricular Opportunities
Students who consistently demonstrate outstanding conduct will have access to an exciting programme of rewards and enrichment opportunities throughout the academic year. These opportunities may include visits to world-renowned destinations such as Harry Potter World, tours of professional football clubs and stadiums, adventurous outdoor activities at Ackers Adventure, educational visits across the United Kingdom, curriculum-linked experiences that bring learning to life, and even opportunities to travel abroad.
Our rewards programme is designed to inspire students to be their very best, both inside and outside the classroom. By demonstrating consistently exemplary conduct, students can unlock unforgettable experiences, create lasting memories, and enjoy opportunities that enrich their personal development and broaden their horizons.
Celebration Assemblies
At the end of each term, students take part in Celebration Assemblies, where success across the academy is recognised:

- Form Tutee of the term Award
- Headteacher CORE Award
