I am delighted to welcome you to Rockwood Academy.
Rockwood Academy is at the centre of a vibrant community on the outskirts of Birmingham, and is truly a remarkable school.
We are proud to be part of the CORE Education Trust and live its four values of COLLABORATION, OPPORTUNITY, RESPECT and EXCELLENCE in all that we do.
Education is the golden thread that should run through the lives of each of us and at Rockwood Academy we aspire to open minds and broaden the horizons of all young people that attend our school.
Our students thrive in their academic education, enjoy coming to school and are, above all, safe. We support each one to achieve the best qualifications they can and, through our active careers programme, to take their exciting next steps in education, training or work – with many going on to prestigious sixth forms and skilled apprenticeships when they leave us.
We offer a wide range of extra-curricular enrichment, to inspire and develop students, and benefit from the many opportunities which come from being a part of the CORE Education Trust family. This year, Rockwood students are participating in a trip to South Africa with the Combined Cadets Force; performed a piece of commemorative theatre in London to mark Holocaust Memorial Day, alongside peers from the National Youth Musical Theatre; worked on a science project funded by the Millennium Point Trust; and took part in official ceremonies to celebrate Birmingham hosting of the Commonwealth Games.
We are a community-facing school and enjoy positive links to the local area, including with the Naseby Youth Centre and Alum Rock FC, both of which offer our young people excellent enrichment opportunities.
At Rockwood, no child is left behind. Whatever their background, or future dreams, we aim to help them all realise their potential.
